You should be.
The mistress: blinded by love, betrayed by her family…
The neighbour: will stop at nothing to protect the life he has fought to create.
The wife: a woman bent on revenge, but how far is she willing to go…?
Jack Jordan does it again! He is absolutely great at writing dark characters! The moment I started reading this short story, I was just hooked on! I couldn’t stop until I was done reading. With each chapter, the story kept on twisting until it was hard for me to breathe. Another great quality of writing is how smoothly a twist would enter the scene and would make you re-read the part again. So many times I had to pause and reflect and marvel at the brilliance of the writing. Seeing the story unfold from all the four perspectives made it even more intriguing, it was amazing to see how one scene can be interpreted by people so differently. As we meet each character we get to know how messed up their lives are and how hell-bent the wife is. The wife, Amber, was fun to read about but is also the one person I would never want to meet in real life. She is the female version of devil. You don’t want to mess with her. Another plus point to the author for writing a character of Indian origin. I love when I see diversity in books, plus I am Indian myself so thumbs up! I absolutely loved the time I spent with this book.
If you thought Gone Girl and Girl On The Train are THE psychological thrillers, then you know nothing Jon Snow. Get yourself a copy of A Woman Scorned! You won’t regret it.
