Hello Friends! How are you today? Hope you are having a great summer.
This month I went into a reading slump, the major reason being the hot, humid and therefore exhausting summer here in India. When reading I want to be in the most comfortable position I can be, but that was not possible this month. And I didn’t want to force myself into reading something. I want to enjoy every book I read, and so I took some time off.
Nonetheless, I was able to two books this month and here they are:
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling
The fourth book in the series, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, is a fun, adventurous ride. Though it is my least favourite book so far (favourite being book three – Prisoner of Azkaban), I enjoyed the scenes involving He Who Must Not Be Named. I liked him more than any other character in this book. Let’s see what book five holds for me.
Gone Without a Trace by Mary Torjussen
This book was a surprise. One of the negative points of reading reviews is that it makes you doubt the book. It makes you wonder if you should read the book. But I had to and wanted to read this book. And I’m glad I did! The book starts off slow, to set up the situation. Then after the mid-point mark, it’s a roller coaster ride. Every chapter has a twist to offer which further complicates the matter. And the major twist halfway through second half completely blew me off. Yes, this book is for fans of The Girl on the Train and I Let You Go, and it also has elements of Tell Me Your Dreams by Sidney Sheldon.
So these were the books I read this month. Have you read any of them? What are your thoughts?
Which other books have you read this month? If you think I’ll like them, do tell them. I’ll love to meet new authors and stories.
Happy Reading,
Love, Rubina
